After our final parcels for Xmas delivery were picked up on Friday, I got into the holiday mood. I promised Chloe a lovely day full of mummy time (we’d only see daddy the next day) and we wend to enjoy ourselves and do girl stuff: go shopping, stopped for a coffee and we went to a Santa’s grotto.
Chloe loooovveed the visit to Father Christmas. She absorbed Santa’s Grotto and the decorations, we were lucky as it was quiet on a Friday and we spend ages in there. She was talking and giggling with Santa but looked at him in Aaaw, it was lovely to see as a parent. A great way of starting our Christmas holiday.
As we are moving soon we had decided not to do any Christmas decoration this year, but I had felt heart broken the passed week for not having family around to celebrate Christmas with, and strangely enough the idea of getting a tree and decorating lifted my mood significantly. So on our way back from a busy day we picked-up a tree. We had to put it in the pram to get it home – quite a sight probably – but Chloe and I had fun and were giggling all the way.
She looved decorating together and helping me hand the Tilda Starts, the baubles, and a little Polar Bear for her.
“Poli-bear”
Having all decorations half price so close to Christmas helps ofcourse :) I always wanted a snow globe for Chloe and now she finally has one.
She loved all of it, she was thanking me all day. Since a week or so she started doing that. ” Thanks MUM for dinner”, “Thanks Mum had a great time, baby happy now” “Thanks dad change the nappy” I find it very akward that she thanks us for normal things, and even more so that she no longer says Mummy/Daddy but Mum – Dad. I assumed this stage only came when kids become teenagers? Does anyone know?
On Saturday eve I was wrapping presents and we decided that we would leave them out for Sunday morning. “Santa has dropped them off early, but the Elf is guarding that you are not opening all before Christmas Day.” Surprisingly she understood and kept to the rule. However when she had a present and we asked her whom it was from she could not answer. Another present from the shop she said: “Thanks Mum”. I don’t think she is really believing the Santa story, however she certainly did believe in the Elf’s Magic and followed all no-touching and elf-is-watching rules strictly.
The first thing she grasped on Christmas morning were her “poli-bear paws” and her “poli suit”. She has worn it a lot the last days :)

Your photos look magical – especially that snow globe one! So glad you managed to get a tree. A few years ago we couldn’t have decorations because of building work (our house was literally a building site with bare brick walls, gaps through windows etc) but on Christmas eve I gave it and put up a small tree as I couldn’t quite face Christmas without one. xxx

A tree does make a difference!
It was an entire mood change for me! The tree was in the holiday mood came with it. We had such a lovely Christmas I did not even blog! xxx
